I booked for the wrong dates and couldn't change it even after 5 minutes. So I had to cancel and pay for nothing. I know it's the company Terms, but nothing has been done, nobody needed to do anything but a adjustment of my booking was not possible.

i had a reservation at 1200 which is when the location closes. when i arrived at 11:54 there was a line, when I got to the front of the line, the worker said it was closes and would not let me in.

Car rentals that market to Americans charge double what the local only companies charge. Look a little deeper than what appears on kayak. Sixt did not have a car available, so I looked locally and was surprised by the much lower prices.

The stuff and service was very good, when you could reach them.

The main problem is the long wait on line to have an answer to a question. We had 2 issues:1st ,our pick up branch at Hayarkon Street in Tel Aviv, had some problems with their phones and computers,so it took is over an hour to reach someone to solve quite simple problems ( change of the pickup time, and a day later when we had a question about the payment,we were transferred from one employee to the other until someone agreed to listen (before trying to transfer the call again)and we got the answer in 30 seconds. 2. We got an excellent and the most fuel efficient car we experienced-Reno Clio-(thanks to the very nice guy at Hayarkon branch!).after 2 days of driving we noticed that the analogical fuel meter didn't even stir. We called to ask - but the very nice lady who tried very hard to help, didn't have the answer. We drove to a closest branch to us -Holon-to find that it closed down 3 years ago (why nobody bother to update your Google sites??). Than,since no one could explain what happens,we drove to Rishon Le Zyyon , an extremely busy location,no parking at all, where the local guy in 5 minutes explained the efficiency of the car,how the meter works,-and was very surprised that no one could explain it to us over the phone,and save us 1.5 hour and worry. Can you please,guys,train your phone center stuff a little bit in basic mechanics of the cars you rent out?

Staff was friendly, everything went as planned. They said they did not have car size I reserve, so they offered to upgrade to larger car. After my refusal, they found correct size in seconds. Not sure how to consider this process. They just could offer an upgrade without pressure.

Tires were significantly underinflated which affected handling, comfort and likely gas mileage. Had to find gas station along my route to pump them to correct pressure. I tried three gas stations until found the one that had working pump. They could check car before renting out.

Unlike most other Israeli rental companies, the staff was knowledgeable, efficient and gave a clear explanation of all costs (insurance, etc.). Very professional and pleasant experience.

Convenience of Tel Aviv office

I was given a quite dirty and dented car in poor working order and told there was no alternative vehicle available. There was gum on the front seat and their solution when I pointed this out was to provide a piece of computer paper to protect my clothing! I was charged the local tax even though I'm exempt as a tourist and it took substantial time and effort to get the tax reversed at the airport. I paid over $50/day with insurance and there was no apology or compensation for the poor service or beat up car. Don't think I'll ever give Hertz Tel Aviv another chance.

Pros: Excellent pick up location in Tel Aviv city center as it was right next to the hotel we were staying at. With $39.50 usd more, we were allowed to return the vehicle at TLV. Rental price is reasonable. Cons: They required an official letter from CC company if you want to decline the insurance. Huge inconvenience to travellers as we weren’t advised of this at the time of booking. Unable to collect Aeroplan miles at this location. Provided my British Airways # instead. Points haven’t shown on account yet but it has only been a few days. Rental cars are not allowed to cross the border to Jordan. Vehicle was rundown. It was not cleaned interior or exterior. Chips here and there.

Way too much money for renting a car one day. Having a 250 km limit sucks you can’t travel where you want without going over it is very stupid.

The Reservation that we received from Kayak / Priceline for Dollar Rent A Car had the wrong car rental location information at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport. It took more than 30 minutes to get to the correct location. They moved from one terminal to another and are now sharing with Hertz. Once we found the correct location, it took more than 45 minutes to get the car. The price we signed up for didn't include the required insurance. I was shocked to find out that the cost for the 1 week rental went from $505.28 to $925.47. That's almost double the price. We had no choice as there were no other cars available. This was classic Bait & Switch......Really horrible

They don't tell you that the car cannot be driven in the Palestinian territories!! That means that Bethlehem in upper Gallilee is off-limits. Dishonesty from the top

If you rent for 1-2 days you have a limited amount of km to use (only 250km). If you exceed this, they charge 0.40 for every extra km. For us, we had to pay double the rental price because of this, it was excessive.

The car worked

To begin with, the reservation was 18euro but at the branch they charged me 50 dollars for compulsory insurance! It took almost one hour for me to pick up the car (long line and slow service)
